Default Dealer Discount

Just a quicky, dont Subaru offer any dealer discount at all for owners club members? Toyota used to offer 15% on parts and 10% on labour.

Anyone know any dealer that will as my local one gave me a huge GTF

my local dealer gave me discount on higher price items, i dont think many will give discount on stuff oil and air filters, although it does depend on the dealer.

Dingles in Norwich do and they also discount the labour rates to due to how old you car is. Up to 40% discount and 10% on all parts couldn't ask for. Much better dealer

its weird how one dealer does and one doesnt, arent they all Subaru? its for parts i am after not service items as i can get them a lot cheaper anyways elsewhere. Would be interesting to make a map up of wher in the country does discount, does anyone know of any in Somerset or Dorset? If i can get a big enough repsonse i am happy to go to my local dealer and ask why they dont do discount, i have asked on SIDC and you need to be a member at £35 a year so slighty negates any discount really

Dealers are not forced to offer a discount, as I believe that the SIDC is not run by Subaru, it is an independent organisation that a dealer can sign up to if it wants to, just as an owner can.

As for the £35..... Well, if the only reason for you wanting to join the club is to gain a 10% discount from participating dealers, then you of course would have to fork out £350 to break even.

If on the other hand you decide to join the club for the reason that most would, then the dealer discount is just a part of the package on offer to you for your subscription money.

If you are after a list of dealers then ask an SIDC member to look in one of his magazines for the listing.

All track days are attended by qualified Circuit instructors who are there to teach you, for free. Several of these instructors are Impreza owners and SIDC members, so have implicit knowledge of our cars.

Our programme includes track days at circuits throughout the country, plus some fantastic airfield sites. Events are fully marshaled and the emphasis is on fun, learning new skills and using the potential of your car in a safe environment (as opposed to on the road). You need a crash helmet .

Some Track Days are less than the cost of a tank of fuel, all are less than the fine for a serious speeding offence!!!!

SIDC meets give members an opportunity to meet with other Subaru drivers in your local area, or on a larger scale, at one of our National events.

so you don't buy parts from your local dealer yet when you need something thats probably dealer specific you expect them to give you discount?
i think the response would have been the same from most dealers, maybe if you used them more then they would be a bit more obliging.

no i dont buy service items from Subaru as they are far too over priced and no i dont EXPECT them to give me discount at all my original enquiry was if anyone knew if they did and i think it is interesting that some dealers do and some dont, and the one near me that said they dont...do according to the SIDC list. Interesting point though about using them more, i might try it actually, in fact i think i will now buy everything i need for the car from my dealer, man cant wait to see the savings they will give me

thanks for the input though.....

Yes, although it is now electronic and not in Paper form, but I prefere it that way

I've been a SIDC member for 10 years ish and I save more than the £30 renewal (£35 new member) on Trackdays and Show tickets (Mostly SIDC club stand instead of Door dinger Car Parks)

Whats £35 a year??? 50 miles of Fuel

I have an Import now so no "Dealer" saving

IMHO

well when you look through your posts you want in writing so you can go down there and beat them in to submission with it therefore you are expecting to get discount.
maybe you should buy more from your dealer, for out regulars we give a very good discount on parts and service but you have to use us. we don't just give it to any weirdo who walks in off the street.

it's a two way street you help the dealer and they will help you but like most people on here you are only out to get as much out of them as possible without giving anything back.
