Hi Guys

I have a 2006 SUBARU IMPREZA WRX which has just hit 40k miles but the passanger side read shock is making a knocking noise and is knackered, now i have been told by Duncan (mapper) that these should be changed under warranty as Subaru are aware of a fault however after speaking to 3 Dealerships they are all claiming this to be incorrect and i will have to pay

Now i dont mind paying but want to make sure i am not being bent over the table

Done Only if it's still "under" warranty IIRC

They certainly know ALL about it

As the know nowt don't take it there to be fixed

As no warrranty get it done for a Third of the Price elsewhere IMHO IIRC

I had knackered shocks at 15,000 miles. I estimate that's when they started. Had them changed at 18,000 under warranty. And expecting to again. Was told it's a problem in the 06's

Thing I'm confused about though, do I get another warranty on those new shocks? And how long for? the standard ones work out dearer than aftermarket

Oh I forgot to add that mine was done at Chelmsford dealers. Had no trouble at all in getting them to do the work. Only problem I had was that it took subaru hq 2 weeks to send the parts.

plenty of second hand shocks knocking around,i changed mine for exe-tc coil overs and have a set that will fit your car if you want to pay postage from belfast

I think my front left has gone as well. What sort of price am I looking for a new one? Also can you drive on a knackered shock?
