The octane rating of petrol degrades as it ages. That petrol will be pi$$ poor after sitting for one year, and will deffo cause knock.
If i was you i'd run it till dry. Then simply top up when you want to fire the 'ol girl back up again.

only prob is my car not running needs re-build ! any other way to drain it ?
find the fuse that controls the fuel pump -- hot wire it whilst removing the fuel pipe to the engine - and just let the fuel pump pump the petrol into petrol cans

I'm guessing the average scooby driver wont have a clue where to start with that, me included
It would be fine to start and run off boost until the old fuel is used up. I have personal experience of doing that. Just dont be tempted to press that pedal too hard as you will get detting. My knocklink went crazy (red light and 60+ reading) on old fuel, so despite what PSL says, it does do what its designed for.
