new saloon and hatch sti?
Seen these in the UK now, anyone know for sure if these are taking the place of the hatch or are they going to sell both in the UK?
The Hatch is growing on me

Was told that the hatch will stay and the new booted version will accompany it, you will only be able to buy an sti at 30k+ if you want new, in powerful models. the basic impreza and diesels are here to stay, the older sti and my wrx-s will see a rise in resale due to high premium of the new model and people plumping for second hand ones
Reason for this is emissions are an issue for Subaru and hence this decision to can all turbos other than the sti so if you want new it's either an 15k to 20k petrol none turbo or the 30k new sti.
though in subaru style they will release diff editions moving forward, I did hear that a wide bodied wrx will come next year so my above rant won't last long hehe

Check out the American website, you can get the Hatch or Sedan STI (Saloon in English! lol). Top of the range is only the sedan!

What do you reckon is a good price for a WRX S in WR blue then ? BNIB as it were ?

just been quoted £32k for my local dealer's Saloon STI (Just arrived on Saturday)
Actually looks better in the flesh than in the promo pics on other threads.
Maybe it was the colour, it was a grey metalic with no spoiler and silver alloys.

So a price increase from £27.5K to £32K...why?...What extra do you get? Have they fixed the chocolate pistons? In the states the hatch is more expensive than the saloon, just as the wagon used to be more expensive than the saloon. Must be more expensive to make the hatch/wagon?

Harsh but probably true...

I heard the pistons have been redesigned with a different skirt.
Also, my dealer says it will be 33-34K and blamed the exchange rate.
Thing is, that's Evo XI money. The dealer didn't look happy about having to try to sell them at that money.

33k gets you one. Jury is still out in my opinion

Sorry for being pedantic but that's a demo car and its 33 and a half so 34 is probably the price for a new one.

The hatch started life at £25.5K in 2008, new car tax has added about £800 to that, thanks to Labour! You can get the hatch at present with 18's and the 330 kit as a free extra for under £28K. Can't see how they justify £33K. If they are struggleing to sell now, no chance at £33K IMHO. Focus RS is much cheaper. I've seen a few focus RS on the road, more than the STI hatch....very rare. Considering the focus hasn't been out as long I don't really know what Subaru are thinking unless they really don't want to sell cars in the UK?

I was seriously looking at the saloon for my wife when we thought it was going to come in at 28K as she doesn't like the hatch but we've just bought a WRX S as it worked out 12K cheaper.
Simply can't justify 34K for a shopping trolley

yes 330bhp prodrive kit, ok perhaps I should have said pack not kit! Obviously not the 330S spec car! Although the 330S was approx £30K if I remember rightly, still less than the 2011 car and with a higher spec!
