Not really a fan of the Hatch but if I was I think i'd rather have the R205.
Not sure if the below vid has been posted but here you go.

drag, well thats obvious 300 vs 400, don't think you need to be mystic meg to guess that one.
brakes, it was pish poor, i expected it to trounce the others
and cones? wtf was that all about lol
comparing cars over a 20m course and with different drivers is pointless, i'd prefer to see a proper test, i'd expect the cosworth to come out way ahead in it. but i would still take the 22b lol

I'd be gutted if i'd paid £50k for a car that barely beats something that's 10years old.
U could have a full carbon fibre shelled classic with 350bhp and still have change to buy a second hand hatch

It's horses for courses and not about what you can buy for you money, based on modifying another car.

Thats crazy talk man. Just because something is ten years old, doesnt mean it wouldnt be able to whoop the pants off a newer car, does it?

Well i would say yes it does. 10 years of technology plus Cosworths history and skills should mean it should leave them standing in all areas.

So are those
I should point out that the 355mm for the 18 inch wheels are cheaper than the 330mm 6 pots for the 17 inch wheels by around 300ish quid.

Nah, saying that if you want amazing stopping power it will only cost you a little over 2k
If you would have put say a P1 or 22B with the standard subaru 4 pots on, you would notice a far greater difference between the cosworth (which would have stopped quicker) than either the P1 (still with Alcon 330mm 4 pots) or the 22B with the AP 6 pots (17 inch) and the cosworth does have the 355mm setup over the 330mm on the other 2 (and no abs on the 22b may help a touch in the dry )

People expected it to look a lot different to the normal STI... but why?
The Sierra Cosworth didn't look much different to the normal Sierra Sapphire (ignoring the 3 door whale-tail early Sierra), and the Merc 190 Cosworth didn't look too much different to the normal 190 model.
It's how it drives that counts.
(Ref the RS4 - i know lots of people are having massive reliability problems with them)

i am just happy that Subaru are still making special editions, that are actually more than the the standard car.
Look at Renaultsport. They ahve a great car in the Clio 200, and have recently launched the Gordini edition. Is it more powerful... no, has it got better brakes... no, uprated suspension... no. It just has some blue interior panels and some white stripes on the outside.
So we should all think ourselves lucky that Subaru is actually making the effort at making something a bit different from the norm!
And for those of you who think they should of made some sort of wild stripped out, 800bhp, wide arch beast..... have a word, are you aware of the financial times we are in?!!
