Default how do you tell the difference?

Firstly forgive my complete lack of knowledge, just brief question, how as complete newbie would you tell the difference between the Impreza WRX and the WRX turbo? from what I can tell appart from a few minor accessories being present on the turbo and not the standard version there is certainly no noticable difference in performance.
I only ask this as I would assume that only the turbo version would have the bonet scoop or am I being a complete fool?

The WRX is the turbo.

Depending on the year, the 3 basic model "levels" are:
GX/GL Sport - 2.0 4 wheeldrive
WRX - 2.0 turbo
WRX STI - 2.0 turbo

It was just how they were marketed in the UK iirc...
The differences are simply manufactured date: Pre and Post 2003
