Default Turbo Purchase

Hi guys.

I'm in the market for a turbo for my 05 blob. i've been looking around for a good low mile VF34/VF35's for a while but have noticed a company on ebay selling a new TD05 16g for around £240ish.

Now i've read loads of threads saying to keep away from comapnies on ebay that are supposedly selling new turbos as they tend to fail and are not really new and original but rubbish chinese copies, i just wanted to know if anyone has heard of this company and have had any experience with them as it seems they have a good selling history and have been trading for quite some time. There called JDMHONDAPARTS.COM. I have also seen them called by a couple of other names as when i done a google search to get any kind of feedback or reviews about them these names also came up: JHPUSA.COM and RACERBITS.COM. They seem to all be the same company and after searching google have not found a bad review about them.

Anyway any kind of help would be good as i dont want my judgement to get blinded by supposide shiney shiney new bits only to be kicked in the bollocks with a worthless piece of cr*p!!!

Thanks

Foz

I thought Honda threw a wobbly a few years back and made companies with "Honda" somewhere in the name change it for copyright reasons etc..

Link ?

yep thats what i read too. i think this is why JDMHONDAPARTS.COM then changed their name to JHPUSA.Com.

That doesn't look like a mitsubishi TD05, in any case the original TD05 only came as side entry and needed modification to get it to fit the newage.

i was a bit bemused for the fact that it did say a direct bolt on for impreza'a 2001-2007 bugeye and hawkeye. so what turbo do you think it is then? Dya reckon I should stay away?

i see know
td05 16g turbos are a good buy.
what are you exactly after, power wise
and do you have wrx/sti as the ihi will fit perfect to the 05 blobs no issues.

you may get adviced to a better suited turbo for your motor

tbh i was looking at 330-350bhp which is roughly the kinda the figure most of these turbos give out give or take a few bhp either side. i was initially looking at VF34/VF35 but having a new turbo is always nicer then used
but unfortunately all my budget permits at the mo is a used 34/35 or this new 16g.

my cars a WRX although i've spent the last few weeks getting the ususal mods together... STi uppipe, pink injectors, STi intercooler. my car already has a decat, backbox and filter.

Spoke to Duncan @ Racedynamix and he actually recommended a 16g to me as well as others and then i found this ad on fleebay and have been really tempted but dont want to get stung.

the 16g is stronger.
you can get 350, but most ly see between 330/345
with simmerler torque ect

the 34/35 dont seem to get that, and do brake easyer

VF34 can handle 400bhp, or deliver 400bhp? Im not convinced itll do either, but I am open to suggestions by the more knowledgeable on here!

there is absolutely no way a VF34 will do 400hp, most are around 340hp

I just bought a billet 18g td05 of Harvey... now that is a piece of art! amazing turbo. Had Duncan@racedynamix map it and he said it was a very capable, good turbo. well in the 350+bhp range and was a very good price

personally i wouldn't touch a turbo from ebay, there are plenty around from reputable sources for a good price.

The above would be my choice mate.

as i put earlyer, i have a 16g and got 340/340 with a sports cat and using an esl live map.
the 18g should see figures of 375ish

more lag than the 16g, but the torque will be reasoably high.
the vf34 highest figures are around 340 where the td05 16g has got350 for alot of persons
mostly down to other mods really. therenwas a thread i replyed to a while back, i put a link to a site with turbos and what they can get.

No.

I'd get one from here if I was in the market for one.

The vf 34 is more capible than the tdo5 and will defo see 350 with supporting mods,it spools better than the td as well given its ball bearing core,i swopped from td to 34 and the benifits were rather good not amazing but noticable and i would recommend it to any one
