Default 1998 subura impreza wrx clucth problems help needed

hi i have a 1998 subura impreza wrx and iv been having clutch pedle problems where it would stick and id have to use my foot to lift it back up and the car would judder when pulling of but yesterday after a week of having theys problems my pedle dropped to the floor and didnt return the bar came of the cylinder thing under the inter cooler i have refited the bar but there is no clutch there is a pedle but its hard to push in and wont selct eny gears does this mean i need a new preasure plate or the fork that selects the gears eny help on this would be apreciated and if i do need preasure plate which one should i buy and how long does it take to remove gearbox and re fit thanks antony

This sounds like you need a new clutch but take it to a Subaru specialist or 2 for a check up. If you are going to do the job yourself allow at least all day (although a garage shoulld charge no more than 5 hours) and know what you are doing before you start as refitting is not a straight reversal of removal and removal is not as straightforward as a push type clutch.

You need a 230mm cutch and it is best to replace the cover, plate and thrust bearing.
