Just from my experiance i had an FP Green on my old 2.5 classic with similar spec to yours but 6 spd box, seemed good for the few miles i did before freshly built (poorly) engine decided to let go. Depends what it is your really after, now on my 2.0 i have a gt30/p20 and its just savage, am seriously looking at the SC46 as there are some amazing figures floating around for the 2.0 for quicker spool at lower boost, speak to Martyn at Enginetuner, top bloke and did a sterling job on my build.

The FP Green is a good turbo. However if it breaks or you need a simple spare part you are in serious difficulty as several people have found to their cost. FP Green are not a good company to TRY and deal with.

thanks guys...

basically am looking to hit 400+ bhp (currently at 328) so my shopping list consists of -

bigger turbo (hence this thread!)
bigger injectors (740's???)
simtek ecu
definitely better box!!!ha!

Im not too fussed about how fast i can go in all honesty, not my daily driver either so its more about acceleration and torque (to scare the mrs with!! )

Oh and make sure i leave in the distance whatever bloke is sat next to me at the lights revving his engine!!!he he (is that just a male ego thing or what???ha)

Turbo - for a 2.0 i think ball bearing is a good idea to help spool, GT3071 sized turbo works well.

740s will have lots of headroom for 450+.

Am running 416bhp with a FP green, also running APS 3.5 inch de-cat, GEMS ECU so no MAF, induction kit, RCM tubular headers, APS turbo inlet pipe, APS parallel fuel rail kit and 650 injectors. On a standard STi engine, have been told turbo is good for 500 bhp. You also nee to look on the FP websiyte about removing the inline filter from the turbo oil feed from the cylinder head. It was also a Subaru technical instruction I think I posted about it on here two years ago.

Thanks everyone for your replys!

The reason i asked was because a member on here has 1 for sale at a good price and on paper the turbo looked just what i was looking for (power/spool up wise).

Although i also read that the turbine wheel(think it was that??) are prone to break as it was an old design and then with Harvey saying about having trouble getting parts etc....
made me think twice i guess????

So a little more saving and i different turbo it is then i am thinking!!

Regards
Andy
