Who has done a full Viynl wrap?
I've been toying with the idea in my head over the last few days.
Has anyone done this? What's the pro's and cons?
I was thinking of changing the car colour also to Lambo White from it's current blue/black mica. I assume you need to inform insurance and DVLA?
Any input welcome.
Cheers
Steve

You can get great metallic vinyl. My mate done a new Mini in a Pinky colour the other day. You have to tell the DVLA if your changing the colour of the car because if ANPR pick up your car and shows it as black and it's white you are commiting an offence. The vinyl ive got on my car has a 5 year guarantee on it and is a lot cheaper than spraying. Also it is hard wearing and doesnt chip as easy as paint.

A friend of mine does it himself and recently done his S4..
Just the roof...
Bit more..
After..
Finish depends on wrap you use... he also done his previous car in carbon..
from.
to..
He also done something a little different for his 'Le Mans' graphics..
Personally, I'm not fan of sticking sellotape over well finished paint. He did carbon wrap my bootlid when I removed a nasty V6 replica spoiler to cover the mess left behind but this is now off for a proper V4 now it's being painted.

When I had a vinyl wrap done on my car this is what every man and his dog told me but I wasn't convinced so I contacted the DVLA directly. Getting a straight answer out of the DVLA is not an easy task, I got a number of standard responses but eventually, after being passed from pillar to post, I got this reply....
I appreciate that the vehicle has not been painted and the vinyl wrap may be removed. However, the wrap has altered the primary colour of the vehicle and is therefore, considered as a colour change.
By law, where any alteration is made to a vehicle which makes any of the details contained on the vehicle registration certificate (V5C) incorrect, the registered is required to provide notification of that change. Furthermore, recording the correct colour(s) aids identification, which is particularly relevant in instances where a vehicle may have been stolen.
Therefore, you will need to complete section seven of your V5C, sign and date the declaration box and return this to DVLA. A new V5C will then be issued to you.
When the vinyl wrap is removed, you must notify this change again following the above procedures.

My Scoob's V5C now has the colour recorded as MULTI-COLOURED.

i almost took the plunge a few weeks back, changing my WR blue to white.
But i couldnt live with the fact the door shuts etc etc would be a different colour.
Although someone mentioned above they got offered to have the shuts done at extra cost, which i didnt know was an option.
Price wise, i got 2 or 3 quotes and they were all around 15-1700 quids.
Main reason i wanted a wrap is due to my car's bodywork being fairly scratched etc. But i think i am going to invest that money in a decent bodyshop for repair and paint work.

I've had my roof and boot done in Matt black. Will get some pics up the weekend when it comes back from being repaired.
I was quoted between £500-£900 depending on the finish of the vinyl for a full wrap. The guy i use does a full BMW Mini colour change for £400.

AFAIK El Hadj Diouf had his SLR wrapped in chrome! Could be interesting on a sunny day.
Quite like the matte look, not 100% on the carbon though, real carbon looks
