I'm looking into buying a classic '94-'99 UK Turbo, how much should i be looking at paying?
I'm looking for a good clean car, mileage is unimportant to me really as long as its been looked after & I'm not afraid of a little work if needed but nothing too major or costly! Thanks for any help, Ade.
This is NOT a wanted ad by the way, just looking for some guidance!

Well, I sold a One Owner well maintained Classic on a W Plate last June for a smidge over £3000 .... that price will get you into the best cars, the modified tat is quite a bit cheaper becuase no-one wants them.

Up to £3K for a late UK turbo in good health and credentials. 4K perhaps for a minter or a high mileage RB5 but at this price your getting into STi V5/6 range assuming you don't mind the extra couple of hundred on insurance.
Theres a couple of nice looking RB5s with 100K on Pistonheads for about £4K.

Looking in Northern Ireland doesn't seem as promising. 4 classics for sale on pistonheads starting at £4500 and going all the way up to 8k (all fairly standard cars).
A little off topic but why are sellers here in Northern Ireland asking more for their classics?

Maybe down to supply and demand. I travelled to find my classic 3.5 years ago which is incidentally up for sale lol.
But aside from the little plug I looked at quite a few and it was amazing how many bad ones are out there. When you do find the right one it's a great feeling.
When i bought mine I drive it back the 80 odd miles with the worlds biggest grin on my face.
I don't know if there are any restrictions in bring one into northern Ireland from England but if not maybe widen your search.

agree with above. buy the best you can find, buying cheap will undoubtably come at a price when things start to go wrong, history history history, receipts, paperwork etc.

I have a 59,000 mile MY98 Classic for sale, I have owned the car 10 years and no money has been spared on the car, she is very rarely out in the wet and I have just spent £1800 on new 17" wheels and tyres, not sure what to advertise it for, she is immaculate, FSSH with it too!!!!!!!!
Cheers

£3500 would get you mine, 99 UK TURBO, 52k miles, full leather, aircon, electric tilt/slide roof all OEM spec. Requires a few car park dinks taking out and a small scuff on the bumper. Gives you an idea!

+1 you be saving money in the long run to spend more on a decent on that get a cheaper one thats a dhed although just because its up for a lot doesnt make it hte better car to get, just do you home owrk on it before spending ur hard earned cash. ppl over price sheds to make them seem decent cars etc. u may get a decent one on the cheap. id agree ull be looking at between 3-4k for decent one.

Less than a week ago:
I got my X reg Classic in very good condition - bodywork had minor pinhead ding, interior almost floorless, wheels (not a single mark on any of them). 64,300 miles on the clock, full service history, taxed to February. It has one modification - Cat back exhaust. Everything else is completely standard.
Paid £3750 for it - private sale
11 months ago I bought my first Classic Impreza - again bodywork was in very good condition as was the inside, full service history, new front pads, new clutch, prodrive rear wing, and A/C. 62,000 miles on the clock. This car had NO modifications.
Paid £4000 for it - dealership sale
Hopefully that will give you some idea as to what a good impreza can cost. The standard Classic Impreza in mint condition will go for ~£4.5k (about 50,000 miles on the clock).
