Question

In the process of rebuilding my fire damaged car, I have hit one snag. Surprisingly, everything else works!!

I cannot get my heated rear window to work.

I suspect the switch (bought second hand) as the light does not come on with the dash lights and obviously the HRW is not working.

But so I can check everything, does the HRW have a relay, if so where?

Cheers

Steve

Question

Measure the voltage across the contacts of the heated rear window. If you have 12V then the element must be open circuit somewhere. If there is no voltage at the terminals measure across the switch one side should be conected to 12V. If you have voltage at the switch then suspect the switch. If nothing at the switch you will have to locate the fuse that feeds the heated rear window and check that. Do all other electrical functions work? Check the continuity of the wires from the switch to the rear window etc.
Hope this helps
