Smile S202 valuation

I looked at a friends S202 this evening as he is planning to sell it.

He asked me to post on here to try and get him a idea of what its worth.

The car is totally stock, not had a radio fitted and is black in colour.

It has covered 18000 recorded miles. Obviously it is actually slightly less than that taking into consideration the conversion from KPH to MPH when he got it.

Oh yes and he is the first UK owner.

I am so out of touch with Scooby prices now that any input would be appreciated.

Bugger and I thought i had the only black S202 in the UK , your friends car is pretty rare now that the new owner of my S202 wrote it off after 2 weeks.

I would say around £12500 but definitely no less than £11500 if it still has it's Rays wheels, titanium exhaust and carbon fibre spoiler.

Your friends car has lower mileage than mine did but the market at the moment is pants, if I were him I'd hang out for the range I've quoted as some jokers on here made me stupid offers.

A cracking car and I wish sometimes I'd kept mine.

BTW has he had it remapped for UK fuel?

As I said I am out of touch with Subarus, the blobeye had only just come out when I stopped working on them.

I am pretty sure that it has not been remapped,it has the correct wheels, spoiler and exhaust.

Its mintier than a minty thing. He mentioned earlier that when he purchased the car that there were only 4 of them in the country. Its on a 02 plate btw.

Your suggested price will make him happy I am sure.

Thanks

Is it here legally......?

I thought Rasher had the first one and some came through on a SVA "Fudge" but apart from that there were no more.

My memory is pretty bad though LOL

Well mine came into the UK in 2009.

Cracking cars just what a proper hardcore Impreza should be, to the OP just tell your friend to hold out for the right sale.

Just a little further info the wheels are over £3500 a set, the spoiler £1200 and the exhaust silencer £1900 for replacement items from Japan.

WRC sales had one for and age at c.£7.5k IIRC. Couldn't register it I think.

I really like them although they're competing in a fierce market place atm and I doubt they'd fetch more than 10k IMHO.

Definitely more than £10K for an original one, I sold mine for more than that and it had more miles on it than the one in question.

No problem, glad you like the sticker like I said I don't think you will get hold of another one.

I don't know why that car couldn't be road registered, perhaps it was due to legislation when it came into the country or due to the amount of time it spent unregistered in the UK.

Mind you £6995 is a bargain as there wouldn't be much work required in order to turn it into a track car.

They did but only for vehicles I believe that came into the UK after a certain date did not need a SVA test and model report, any prior to that I think were still invalid to be registered for the road.

Just thought I'd post up some pics of my S202, these were taken at spring PCAD at Castle Combe. I'd just picked up the wheels after having them refurbed and the car had been professionally detailed the day before as well.

The black mica really does look good, when it was detailed you could see blue, gold, red, green and purple reflection coming from the paint.

I don't think that Subaru offered the black mica paint after that except in a slightly different tint which only gave a reddish reflection.

I didn't say £13k for the S202, I said between £11500 to £12500 as I recently sold mine for that.

Recently as in may?
I would say if he wants a quick and easy sale 9-10k or if he wants to have it hanging around till at least after Christmas then put it up for more.
Bear in mind the blue 2006 sti spec c type ra won't sell at 17k and there is a 2005 spec c. That has been for sale for ever at 13k.

And my 1st post was a joke hence the lol on the end, so your sassy quote wasn't needed.

There are some quite amazing figures being banded about on SN these days ...... people think these cars are still wanted and are worth good money.

Well, it's a very small market now .... the rare cars will find a buyer as they are desired by the few, with only a few available.

But, generally, the market for the Impreza has gone the way of the Forester ..... unwanted, expensive, image problems.

Sad, but it was always going to end in tears ...... BTW I have no idea how much a S202 is worth - it really is a case of what the buyer will pay.
