Impreza STI Type UK 300
Hi all!
Good to be a new member here I've just put a deposit down on a 2002 WRX STI Type UK 300 (which I can't find much about at all online).. this will be the highest-performance car I've ever owned, and I can't wait to pick it up!!!
Collecting end of next week, so I'll be sure to stick a bunch of pictures up and definitely looking forward to getting stuck into the forum
Cheers,
Ross

Apologies.. slight mix between me being a tard and lack of listening skills
Car is indeed a WRX STI Type UK with PPP I've been looking at Imprezas and Supras for a while; went to view a couple of each and ended up deciding the Impreza would be a much better buy!
Awesome to see the forum is so active, hehe.. Thanks for all the replies

Welcome , had a Supra TT a few years back , was a fantastic car apart from the fact it was only fun for me in a straight line , The STI is a great all rounder im sure you'll have plenty of fun

Cheers CHOLTON Really can't wait to get the Scooby - this is going to be the loooongest week ever I think! What are you driving now? The Supra was awesome, and I've always wanted one, but the Impreza won hands down by comparison!

Mean't to say Ross, enjoy your car. Have you decided on any mods yet. The modding bug will bite eventually
Enjoy. I had the bug eye version of your car and thoroughly enjoyed it

Cheers mate! I love modding as much as the next guy, but at the moment, the only thing I have in mind is a change of wheels. Already fitted with HKS exhaust and Bailey DV, and a conical filter (looks like a Gola brand so will be getting a new one! Just going to get along to some meets and shows first I think
My car is the bug eye model too - can't wait!

Wowza mate, lovely motor! Automatic I assume? One thing I had priced up for doing if I bought the Supra was a manual conversion, haha..
Certainly will be a long week but as you say, will all be worth it! Does ScoobyNet go as a club to shows?

Ross, definitely worth getting your car re-mapped (I had a blob and left the sports cat in, no MOT hassles). You will see 330-340 bhp with similar lbft.
IIRC you may also need a fuel pump with the bug model.
Enjoy!

I'll definitely be looking to remap at some point, though the 300 horses will do me just fine for a while I think! Hehe, going to upgrade pads, discs, lines and fluid before mapping I think. Did you mean the fuel pump will be needed with the remap? Or just as a common replacement for the bug?

Edit - just re-read some earlier posts. If it has after-market exhaust (is it de-cat?), IK and DV it should already have been mapped and is likely seeing much higher figures. If it hasn't been mapped, get it done ASAP.

Is it a DIY job? Will definitely get it done!
Edit response :P Aye, has a DV, and zorst - not sure about IC being aftermarket, think it's standard, and not sure if it's mapped. Rollers on the cards ASAP just to see. Will post the graph when it's done!

Not DIY job. There are many good mappers on here, depending where you live. Some are mobile
JGM - Kent/mobile
Dynamix - not sure, but mobile
Andy Forrest - Scotland
Andrew Carr - Preston?
Bob Rawle - Swindon
Scooby Clinic/Pat H - Chesterfield
Zen - Northampton?
Many others. Cost £350 - 600 ish
Do you know if the exhaust is decat or is it just HKS back-box? Just BB change will not be a problem. If it is de-cat it can get serious boost spikes if not mapped properly.
Can you find out if it has already been mapped? I'm guessing with those mods that prev owner will have had it mapped. Think you can only tell by accessing ECU with relevant software, or ask prev owner.
Edit - IK = induction kit/cone filter IC = Intercooler ;o)

I'd get it checked out to see what's been done...... It has a Blob replica scoop, TSL / Morette rear spoiler, Lights have been changed, markers etc changed as well.
A nearby specialist would be my first port of call

Good call I'll get onto it as soon as I collect. Just to find a specialist now! I'm looking forward to getting it onto the rollers now too!
