The force was too strong...
After 9 years of championing the Impreza I have finally sucumbed to the power of the dark side. I have failed you my x comrades, a traitor, a defector who has been initiated into the legion of MLR. My Evo 6 fighter is now my weapon of choice. Although lost for eternity to powers of dark I will never forget the kindness and generosity bestowed upon me by you all. I wish you all success in battle.

The car: 2005 Sti type UK
The mods: ecutek, ss exhaust, coilovers, anti lift, sports clutch, bump steer mod and a few other bits etc
The power: 340/50 bhp
The car: 2000 EVO 6 GSR
The mods: EVO 9 cams and diff. Fidanza flywheel and ACT sports clutch. Ecutek remap, HKS induction kit, large fmic, 3" ss exhaust turbo back, greddy prof boost controller. 360bhp
EVO +ve points[LIST][LIST][*]Car feels lighter more nibble and direct[*]Responsive acceleration which revs quick and strong to red-line[*]Less turbo lag[*]Better seats very supportive[*]Handles awesome (considering running standard setup)[*]Looks awesome on the road (imo)[*]mpg is comparable to the sti[*]Sound system is beyond crap
EVO -ve points[LIST][*]Interior dash is very basic[*]Much more internal road noise, rattles and creaks[*]Uncomfortable on long motorway runs (this is the 6 after all which was much more raw, a comparison with the evo 7 which is more refined and comfortable would be more accurate when comparing comfort and build quality)[*]Not as easy to live with if driving every day I reckon but will see over the next few months.
I'm sure there are many more things to add but I have only had the car for 2 weeks. So will report back and keep this updated as time goes by.

I love the Impreza through and through which will never change. Just fancied a play with something different but familiar, if you get me
I own both a PS3 and an XBOX because they are both good in different ways. I can't afford to own both a scooby and an evo, but If I did have that sort of money I would buy a GTR

From: Slowly rebuilding the kit of bits into a car...
The force is strong in the Arfy-one...
I'd have an Ev* six as well as my Scoob... not instead.
dunx
P.S. You forgot the tiny fuel tank, and the servicing requirements, ( not so bad if it's your weekend toy ! )

Servicing every 4000miles, had the big one done last week (all belts, fluids etc) so all the next ones will cost max £150-£170 quid from specialists. Expected with such cars. Not too arsed as it's second car anyway.

hhmmm return you will, when broken the evo is hmmm.
Joking aside i kind of did the same going from a blob wrx to a 58 plate audi s line. now back to a classic and that is where i'll stay. the force runs strong in me.

I did consider an Evo though but just couldn't bring myself to do it
Get some pics up.

lol, i thought i would try life in the luxury german market and picked up the audi with 7k on the clock, full s line pack with all the trimmings. Very nice to drive at first having all the auto functions of headlights, seperate climate control, AMAZING bose sound system. but after 9 months it just felt dull. traction control would kick in all the time first sign of wet.
Classic wagon is fairly sensible, delivers power by the bucketloads and spares can be picked up so easily with the amount being broken daily. what more can you ask for?
Reason i didnt go evo was purely the image factor, not saying subaru are any better but classic wagon versus evo 5/6/7 etc does look more respectable and less chavy.
You'll be back to us in a wagon when your family starts.
