fuel and temp gauges don't light up?
Hello there,
this may be a very simple answer, but i don't really have much knowledge of the lighting and electrical side of my car.
I have a 96 impreza wrx which had the white lockwood dials installed when I bought it. When I switch my lights on at night, my revs and speedometer will illuminate, but the fuel and temp doesnt?
Is this a simple case of blown bulbs/fuses etc or is it a bit deeper than that?
thanks very much in advance.

While it's always possible that there's something more sinister at work here, by far the likeliest explanation is a blown bulb or two. Take the instrument pack out and pull the relevant bulbs, and all will become clear.

Splitpin, as always, is right
Once the dials are out, which is pretty easy, I recommend you replace ALL illumination bulbs, which will be blued over if they are still working.
They are capless W5W and there are around 5-6 of them in total.

LOL, knew that was coming.
Two screws in the upper trim panel inside the dials area, lower steering wheel and ease the trim out.
That leaves three screws, two lower, one upper. Remove them, (A decent magnetic screwdriver helps), and pull the dials forwards to release the speedo cable and the wiring plugs, again, work the dials out of the space.
One spanner on a Haynes guide
