Hi what are peoples views on subaru extended warranty (Auto protect). As I really want this 07 STI I was hoping for the sake of £400 it would solve the issue of worring about costs of an engine rebuild due to piston, head gasget, bottom end failing

Don't do it mate I've had dealings with auto protect and there crap as both my gear box and engine went within a year and both times they said it was wear and tear so I had to foot the bill. Google them and you will see more cases like mine.

Hi Duncan from reading the posts of this forum and speaking to some of the engine builders i am now **** scared of it going bang!
Is it just the unfortunate odd 1 or 2 that go bang with referance to Hawkeye probs or is it really a huge problem that effects 50% of the owners out there?
