Slightly late for work, so moving "smartly" ( ) round the dual carriageways in the Docklands area, came up behind a Y reg Porche Carrera that was absolutely hooning it between roundabouts, so much that his spoiler came up (so someone out there will know what speed but IIRC its about 75) but when it came to the roundabouts he'd slow down to absolutely nothing tiptoe round before hooning it again. Needless to say I caught up with him by keeping a constant speed & faster round the roundabouts and eventually overtook in a benign flow of traffic moment. Thought nothing of it other than here was someone with a Porche that can't go round corners I was parking up when the same Porche happened to pass my office & he rolled down his window & said -
"You should slow down you should!"
LOL - I couldn't help but laugh!

Was this in PTMW! or the Vectra? There's a 40 mph limit all the way down there -- ridiculous it is. No pedestrians, and it's just straight line, roundabout, straight line, 'pretend' roundabout (doesn't go all the way round), straight line, roundabout. You can make considerable gains on someone by not slowing down for the roundabouts.

Excellent!
Had a couple of good experiences myself in the last few days. The first was on one of my local dual carriageways, which has nice roundabouts every 1/2 mile or so. At the start of the dual carriageway I noticed a police T5 in the distance with the blue lights on, obviously on a call somewhere. I was having a nice spirited drive but was chatting to the other half at the same time. At the other end of the dual carriageway it occurred to me that I'd caught up the T5.
The second was last night, a friend of a friend came down on the possibility of buying one of my motorbikes, in his Boxster S. As it's a company demo car it has all the options, including a sweet-sounding sports exhaust. After he'd checked the bike out we went out for a jaunt in the Boxster with the roof down - what a car that is! I absolutely loved it! It pulled sooo nicely, not much quicker than the scoob, but the sound was just fantastic, especially on the overrun.
Unfortunately I can't afford one...

(can't afford a Boxster, boohoo)

Lol, often see the same kind of thing around Milton Keynes, I heard of a bloke who wouldnt go fast round roundabouts in his M3 cause all his work mates told him that "they dont handle mate, it'll just spin, they're only fast in a straight line."

Perhaps the Porsche owner was a dog owner....
Unfortunately, one of my dogs gets car sick if I pile the P1 through the corners. As a result when travelling with the mutt I have to drive v gently through the bends or face the consequences.
The other week I had a 306 GTi-6 chasing me. He must have thought he was following a right lemon. Fact was at the time I had just got out the surf and was wearing nothing but a wet pair of trunks. The dog was in the car as was the surfboard (Amazing that you can fit a 7foot 8 surfboard inside the P1) both of which were swinging round the corners.
So.... if the P driver only had his wet speedos on that might explain it.

Hi Puff
having had several porkers in the past the rear spoiler raises at 75mph and lowers again once speed is reduced to 45-50mph. However there is a bypass switch that can keep the spoiler raised until as such time the engine is switched off.
Just made up some wax for you as per our conversation and will send out to once it has set. ;-) plus a pinkie cloth
