STi 7 - Up-pipe - Which One ?? Overboost ?
#1
Could anyone tell me the best up-pipe for an sti 7 and is 1.7bar overboost safe for a stand STi 7 Engine ??
This to me seems very high and i am wondering if its the Up Pipe causing the problem. I would have thought the R&D would have taken care of this, but it seems a little odd... ???
The car just has an exhaust and filter, seems very strange, there is also a sound of det at the top end, well 5600rpm, due to the lack of fuel and too much boost.
Anyone had modded Up-pipes on there car ???

There may be a simple answer, I only fitted my gauges at the weekend; I already had our back box on by then and I have already seen a peak 23 PSi (1.58 Bar) from my car.
I'll swap out for the STi B/B just to check but maybe they are running higher boost as standard?
Mike.

Hmm, it's BLOODY quick, and with 6 gears you are very busy in there, so I've not really looked, just checked the peak figure and that's what it was showing.
I'll take a co-pilot out with me to keep an eye on it out the way somewhere.

On a standard exhaust UK spec STi7 (mine), 1.3 to 1.35 bar peak, and 1.1 to 1.15 held boost.
Decat from downpipe back, no change.
It's only when you fit the downpipe, or up pipe (1.5 bar peak with either) or both (1.7 bar spike) the trouble begins.....

Sorry mate, forgot you had one of those funny illegal ones....
Let me know when you have 2 bar, so I can pop up and have a look before it goes bang
