Grease can freeze, your best bet is just to ensure the rubber and window where it connects is dry, that way you wont rip the rubber seal either when opening the door

Yeah, oil and some silicone based products are not recommened on rubber because it causes it to perish, if you want a quick solution, warm water or de icer, or just do as I said above, if your a real geek then maybe you can use brown paper bent over the glass just hope it doesnt get wet .

Remote start. Takes the chill off and thaws the seals nicely.
Seriously, normal oil or grease will **** your rubbers. Try vegatable/olive or castor oil, its freezing point is around -10C. It's all vegatable oil and will not rot your seals.

If you'd rather not have oil residue etc on your car and seals have a look for Swissvax Pneu (Expensive) or Gummi Pfedge which will both help your seals.

Up here where it gets up to -50C silicone grease is used by everyone, year in year out with no detrimental effect to seals.
On the contrary, sniw and ice thaw out when the car is warm or sat inside, seals get wet, refreeze, crack etc and snoorer or later will be ripped off the body when you try to open to door.
Not silicone spray, its in a large chapstick type tube, specially for car door/window seals. Costs like a fiver.
