Rebuild or new engine?, miles piling up.
Having to really think what to do with car. Putting 400 odd miles a week on my UK Turbo. It's just turned 110k, i look after it constantly and its running great. But as the miles click up i have to be thinking of rebuild/new engine. I do not want another car unless i have to. I know with these miles its madness to use a scoob. But i can afford it and its love not sense making me do it. I also live in the sticks so dont want to give up awd.
Im close enough to Andy Forrest and i take it he is the best. But i have seen rebuilt engines going fitted for 1-1.5k, which i can stomach.
What's best...Rebuild or get another engine. Any idea of prices also?.

Leave it alone if nothing is going wrong with it! Just keep it well serviced and look after it and like any other engine it will be fine. A friend of mine had over 125k on a newage wrx and it was modded, still going strong now with the new owner!

Cheers for advice, yeah i make sure im on the servicing all the time. I just keep thinking surely it will start to miss a beat soon. But it doesnt. I guess gearbox is most likely going to fail first.
Just wanted to know what to expect if i have to go down that road as im keeping her as long as i can. Ta again.

Im just in process of rebuilding my turbo 2000 after 130k running 260bhp. I was debating whether to source a 2nd hand engine but rebuilding it instead. Im adding few uprated parts along the way but the final price is £800.

Don"t fix it unless it"s broke.....
It could go on for a long time.
Mine has similar mileage runs like a swiss watch no unusual noises etc and doesn"t use a drop of oil.
No need to top up between regular changes.

Thats good news guys. I just feel bad shoveling the miles down the poor cars throat. They really are amazing cars if looked after. Ill keep motoring a bit more worry free now.
Re Andy F, yeah i think he sends you to someone else for the work. Scotty..thats good pricing. But i cant do that type of work myself. Cheers all.

im thinkin of the same options and its doin my head in
but the way i look at it , u never really know wot ur gettin with an engine ? reality is that it could go bang in a week !! i think a re-build by a decent well known scoob specialised is the better option im gettin mine built by tfs racing and mapped by jolly green monster
