Default ENGINE QUESTION

Right guys iv done a big end on my classic waggon and im now on the lookout for a new engine, and my question is if im gonna be replacing the engine what is the best engine to replace it with ? iv been told to buy a proper red top STI engine , but im unsure if an STI engine will run on my ej 20 wrx ecu , also will my original wiring loom fit ???

can someone please shed a bit of light on this subject for me ? my thoughts are..... if im gonna relace my engine i might aswell replace it with a half decent strong engine !!!

thanks guys

I would advice you to speak to David @ A.P.I before you go buying into a used engine mate.

No classic engines are strong as the rods are all the same and they are rubbish.

Spend the money on a rebuild.

It could be a whole host of things- Plugs, leads, bad batch of fuel, dodgey injector etc. What mods are on the car? has it started doing this since the cold weather? what fuel do you use?

You need to use super unleaded for a start, either tesco 99 or shell vpower. Anything else and the car is more than likely to run rough especially if the previous owner used a better fuel as the cars ecu has programmed it self for 99ron fuel.
