Which MAF are you talking about - a classic one already mounted in a tube or newage one that fixes on to a two bolt boss?
You'll then have to call on some very good fabrication skills and precision assembly equipment to design your own housing - I can't recall anyone who has done it before.

The MAF HAS to be after the filter or it will be shot blasted and die very quickly.
If mounted in a DIY tube, a recalibration of Volts vs airflow is needed and the MAF will need to be in as straight section as is possible to eliminate any air turbulence.

If the size of the tube it sits in changes then you'l need to change the airflow map accordingly I would imagine.
