Default Advice - wide track model

Hi, looking at a 04 plate type 25, but is not wide track - is this an issue, am I better waiting for on 05 plate?

Personally I would hold out for the wider track model, you also get the updated interior and I think a high proportion of people would rather buy the later 05 model I know I did and I would again and in all honesty so would you hence why you are asking this question. Hold out for the one you want!

I am sure the technical guys will be along to explain the pro's and con's but for me if Subaru changed the model to a wider track they did it for a reason and in theory it should be better and along with the update inside I would say it's worth holding out

Best of luck

Just playing devils advocate, but I was wondering what percentage of scoobynet members could tell the difference in driving a wider track car than a standard pre 2005 car?

I haven't had a go in a 2005+, so I was just wondering if it is just a pointless stat or a valid upgrade?

The wide track is a better car, the DCCD-A system is much improved. However, what you are talking about is a Type 25, so if you were looking for a widetrack one of those you are going to be spending a lot more money.

Best advice is to go see the car and try it, if it does what you want in the budget you have then it's good enough, it's not as though the earlier versions are rubbish, just the wider track one has some worthwhile improvements, but if they are outside your budget why wait, get what fits your circumstances and enjoy it.

Thanks johnfelstead, good advice - just wondered, as everyone seems to want an 05 car out of the blob eye shape. Just finding it very hard to find a type 25 in wide track, but the one I have found looks ace - going to drive it tomorrow and see.

cheers

The MY05 cars also had the longer wheelbase of the Spec C, so handle just as well, then of course you have the T25 upgrades to improve them further
