Hi all
I was driving my car the other day and thought i'd give it a bit, to my horror I found no power !! It felt like the turbo wasn't working. I tried high and low boost but it was running like a dog. Then all of a sudden it took off and has been ok since. It's been very juddery on idle lately, as if it's going to stall. Any clues why the loss of power or what might be causing the juddering ?
Cheers.

Is it really flat though a certain rev range?
Iv'e had issues with mine between 2-3000 revs. Put my foot down and nothing. If I leave my foot in, it will eventually lead to the turbo kicking in.
It has eventually got worse to the point where everytime I pull up to a standstill, it did exactly the same as yours where it nearly cuts out.
I'm getting the MAF replaced on Friday and this should do the trick and fix both the issues.
Hopefully anyway.

Mine was flat right through to 5.5k revs then after about 10 mins of trying it seemed to clear and kicked in as usual. It's only on standstill that it nearly cuts out and seems to drive ok once I set off. I've not really used the car that much lately so this might have something to do with it.

It does sound very similar to mine. I will re-post once I've got the MAF done and let you know if this fixes the issue.
I hope it does cos I'm about to cry the way it drives at the moment.

2.0l WRX - 2005 - blobeye
Sports cat
Plugs
Air filter
Fuel pump
Re-mapped to 280 bhp
The mods were done about 2 1/2 years ago, so not sure if the plugs or air filter might need changing.

Worth knowing for the future, cheers.
My power is all there now so hoping it was just some crap in there that needed blowing out, I'm working away at the moment so will give it a good drive next weekend and see how it goes. The juddering on idle will need sorting though, just bought some damp removing spray for the plugs/leads so I'll give it a spray and see if that helps.

Could be time to get you wallet out and treat her to a visit to a reputable Subaru service mechanic. Have a look/ask on http://www.cumbrianscoobs.co.uk/phpbb2/index.php, they will be able to give you some more local info.

It's had 2 services from my local garage but will be getting a full service soon. Would new plugs and panel filter be advised after 2 1/2 years, also would you recommend the leads to be changed ?

What sort of service does not include plugs??
If you can do the oil and plug change yourself once a year then you have no need to pay a local garage, and you also know the job is done to your satisfaction.
Plugs defo after 2.5 years, i change mine every year. I would advise a KnN panel in the OE air box every time, but you will require a map tweak/check if changing from a cone IK. The leads, if they look ok then should be ok but it will not hurt to change them, preventative maintenance is always best.

Thanks for the info, not sure if the plugs were changed on my last service. I've just emailed a scooby garage in Cumbria for a price on a full service, hopefully be a bit cheaper than the usual 5 year service as they just replaced the cam belt last month.
