Default Drinking way too much fuel GC8

Hi guys and girls
Im having a fuel issue (arent we all) with my 1995 import impreza wrx.
I fill it up and only 210 miles to a tank...surely thats not normal.
Now for the past 2 year its been used as a track toy and stored for the last 6 months but i have now got to use it as a daily for a couple of months.
It is decatted and no chip installed and also the vent covers were removed on the bonnet for cooler air obviously- could it be a damaged airflow meter
This fuel consumption doesnt bother me on track but im not amused she drinks this much on the road driving it like miss daisy.
what do you guys acheive and think

Its not far off the average. My MY00 does 260 miles to a tank, thats taking it very easy.
If you say you have no chip, then its possible its not mapped for UK fuel.
You don't mention the fuel you use, or the type of driving. If thats motorway or long journeys, then that is bad.

210 miles sounds about right im afraid. i get 230, but thats with a 99 ron and polar chip which helps. i used to get about 220 with the standard ecu map.

thats pretty average what you are describing for your year of scoob and it works out that you are averaging roughly 21mpg going of the figures you have given and thats pretty good, i am lucky to get 18mpg out of mine (heavy footed).

330 odd miles to a tank with V Power. A bit less when it was colder last month.

Has the car been remapped since fitting decat?
From what i have read on SN a remap is essential when fitting a decat downpipe....

mine is about the same with momentum. why are other newage WRX's / STi's getting less miles per tank than WR1?! considering I have been planting it quite a lot as i only just got it, I am still getting 280-320 miles out a tank

The colder weather and short journeys will have a huge effect on fuel consumption.

I would replace the vent covers TBH, it could lead to a whole world of problems.

Not everyone I can get that in my wagon, driving off boost for a whole tank. Not much fun though.

Newage cars have 60 litre tanks though. Not sure if all classics have 50 litres or not...
