Not sure, but it seems like a Japanese specced car vin number.

No just checked again. Defo a UK car. Mixed me up with the K. That's for the right handers. Mine has an L cos it's LHD. Yours is a MY00

To break it down:-

JF1 = Japan Factory
G = Series - eg Impreza
C = Body Style - C for Saloon, F for 5Dr
8 = Piston displacement & wheel drive - 8 is 2ltr 4wd
F = Model Year A-93, B-94, C-95, D-96, E-97, F-98 etc etc
K = Destination - K - Europe & RHD, U - Australia etc etc
3 = Spec - 2-DL,3-LX,5-GL,F-Sport,7-GL(again?)8-Turbo
GH = Transmission & Fuel - G-injection,R-Auto,J-Ctr Diff,D-Ctr Diff turbo + others
123456 - Sequential body number

On a UK chassis number, such as J***********, what do all the bits mean? I know that the GC8 bit means Impreza (old shape) saloon. The car is a 2000 Turbo.
