Default Front Bumper Mounting plate.

Hi all.

I had to repair my bumper as it was hanging off over the weekend, and the metal 'bracket' that it fixes to is completley rotten. Are they bolted or welded on? and where would be best to source one from please? Are stealers the only option for it?

Thanks
Andy

They're bolted on, from inside the engine bay just below the headlight!
Secondhand is prob your best best (I got front and rears for £20) otherwise its a dealers which will be £££££££!!

That seems to be an issue which applies to all age versions. I read about it somewhere just after I got my Hawk so made it my first job to remove both bumpers, rustproof and coat everything behind the bumpers that had the potential to rot. There was no rust whatsoever on either of my brackets but the paint on them was quite poor. It's not a lot of fun removing both bumpers but it's a worthwhile exercise if the owner is planning on keeping the car for a few years.

Scrappers, or e-bay, I'd say.

I recently got a rear bumper AND support, delivered, for under £40. In good condition too.

Thanks guys glad it's not welded on, should make life a little easier. I've not checked the rear but would surprised if it was much better.

Cheers.
