Adding a Sports Cat to a Full De-Cat System
Sorry for the title........
At the moment I have a full De-Cat exhaust system with 3" pipework, going down to 2 1/2" at the downpipe.
I'm thinking of changing the de-cat downpipe to a sports cat downpipe. How much performance will I lose by doing this. ?
Mnay thanks.

Depends on the make of the Sports cat mate.
They have come a long way these days and perform just as well as a de-cat. Also will be safe come MOT time.
Look at 6bhp/7bhp or so. Nothing your notice on the road mate.

Thanks for the reply.
To be honest, that's the main reason for wanting a sports cat, cannot be bothered with the hassel at MOT time of getting the de-cat swapped. And if it's just a matter of losing a couple of BHP then it makes sense really.
Thanks again.

Depends on the cars amount of tune as well. What I mean is, if highly modified the sports cat may still not be enough to pass. Please understand no cat is guaranteed to get you through an mot. They dont even guarantee the cats anyway, LOL.
