Default sti rods + pistons

hi all , im gettin exited as my 02 wrx is nearly ready for the re-build "finally"
and would like some advice about con rods and pistons ?
my car is expected to make between 330-350 bhp
i do not hav the budget for forged sadly , but would it be a wise choice to go for sti pistons and rods ? crank? also what boost pressure can the vf34 turbo make ? i would like to buy the pistons brand new really , anyone know a company that sells them ? thanks and sorry for all the questions lol

OEM new will be silly money, buy any forged item. Your ecu can only handle around 1.45 bar, after that you'll need a boost controller or ecu swap. Turbo will make 1.6-1.7 bar easily.

300 odd BHP is OK for STi items I'm running that (and more) on Stock Bug WRX items, personally I'd ask paul at finch motorsport if he's got anything hanging around which is cheap and would do. Your DENSO ECU should be able to handle the VF34 Ok as well without going aftermarket or needing something like an AVCR unless you are desparate for in gear boost control.

Bug WRX suspension, drivetrain and brakes are nearing the limit as well

or you can go for Wossner Pistons/Wiseco Pistons are also good, but from some reports says noisy too.
For Rods these are good(for around 500bhp) EAGLE ESP 3D STEEL

Yes you will need Big end bearing and Main End bearing set,i would recommend ACL are good and mostly used.
Cometic HG set will cost around £100-£130

Hi matey you can go with standard internals up to 400BHP without the doubt, bod from SurreyScoobies running 400bhp on standard internals.

My bug was run around 350bhp,but i've get piston ring failure and now i go for 2.1 stroker...
Ask TFS for options, but TFS now have for £3k 2.1 stroker kit option........

Is much better option like OE recon/rebuild,and is supplied and fitted for this price, but ask Stew.
At this point run just VF34 and if you money allow you can go for bigger turbo etc.,but until you have saved money run VF34 on 2.1 stroker.

2.0 litre STi SCDB above, should be able to build it fairly cheaply.

i think he quoted me £2,400 if i remember correctly ? that was about 7 months ago wen he diagnosed it as piston ring failure ! so about 600 cheaper i might keep it a year or so and move on !quite fancy a big power rwd next ? supra turbo , r33 gtst ?or maybe a classic sti
