I guess you mean this... Suppose you get what you pay for! I don't know all that much about 22Bs, but I'd sooner spend £20k on something else :P

Very LTD run. To many thought of as the best Scoob made. Only 400 (ish) were made, 16 came to the UK as official cars, others have been imported. Used a 2.2 litre engine which again is sort after, bespoke body panel, wider track... all sorts basically. You could buy one, put 10k on it, keep it clean and tidy, then sell it for the same price probably

I wouldn't spend 20k on that one though, far too many mods. A minty fresh one that hasn't been tinkered with is worth 20 - 25k all day long. Best Scoob ever made IMHO.

They've been trying to sell that for about 3 years! They also had a P1 in, and remember seeing this when I went to take a look. The P1 was an absolute dog, and to be fair the 22b didn't look brilliant either - the photos are very flattering.

The 22B is the Holy grail for most proper Scoob petrolheads, the ones that were here when it started not all the 'Johnny Come Lately' hatch owners.
It will always command a high price, but it is one of those cars where the more standard it is the better it will hold its value.
For me it is the best Scoob ever made, others will of course disagree, but if I had £20K plus to spend on a car I could afford to keep out of the rain and only use for fun I would be tempted.

the 22B officially produced 276bhp at 6000rpm, though most experts estimate a more realistic output of 350bhp as the revs creep towards the 8000rpm red line

Look at the specs on most Jap power cars, they all had 276 bhp in standard from.

I have a friend who runs a car auction in kings Lynn. This car has been entered in the aprill sale. They are hoping for £18K apparently.
I was very tempted to begin with but the mods have put me off to be honest. I would much rather buy one that has been kept totally standard all of it's life.

Because Japanese rules restricted the companies from producing cars with over 276bhp. That's why Skylines came with 276 from the factory (they put a really restrictive exhaust on the car to make the 276bhp, put an aftermarket exhaust on the car. BAM! 310bhp)

I remember the 276 thing. Subaru should have just made a 22B with 276bhp at 3500rpm
I was under the impression this Jap rule thing kicked out before the 22B. What was the average power output of the 22B then, or was it like the new GT-R, bespoke to the car?

There is an original S202 bodykit for sale on 'japperformanceparts.com'. It's got a bit of damage to it, they want about £1500 for it, including the awful rear spoiler.
God that car was ugly, lol....

A friend of mine had a UK 22b. Paid reasonable money for it, hardly used it, was frightened to park it anywhere, spent an absolute fortune maintaining it and then sold it for a load less than he paid for it.
I wouldn't buy one as an investment.
