i bought a set of rims for the wifes 306 off ebay last night, i put in a best offer which was accepted by message, half hour after cash on collection he declined my offer and removed the item, so now i get no feedback.

I assume you have contacted the seller to ask why?

I am confused!

Has he sold the wheels to you or has he initially accepted your offer and then later declined it?

Until the offer is accepted and the listing ended the sale is not complete. A message means nothing unfortunately

he accepted through message and not via the best offer. ive been to his house, paid him, i have the wheels now but an hour after i left him he officially declined my offer and removed the listing. so i have the goods, he has money, but no feedback can be left and he pays no final value fee.

Are you that bothered about it? Aye feedback is important, but, you've got what you wanted.

you scamed ebay with going to buy them off ebay ,,no auction no feedback
i would have ended them as well if you bought them off me before the auction ended

ive used cash on collection numerous times on ebay and the seller has always ended the auction in the correct manner
i used the best offer button, he accepted my offer. surely its down to the seller to end the auction properly. i was naive/stupid at the most. i wont get caught out again.

ive done this on a number of occasions, when i have offered sumbody a little less than they wanted you leave ebay out of it so they save fees you get a little discount, thats normal, but if he didnt tell you his plans to do this first then thats wrong, if you wanted to be really nasty you could email ebay giving them all the details and they will ban him off ebay.

I can't believe your moaning about an ebay star, especially when you read the threads about people losing thousands of pounds due to scammers and rogues.

i live in my own little world where honesty and handshakes mean something still, more fool me, from now on i will be playing the ebay way too.

ebay dont give a toss. hes paid to list the item so they have had money off of him.

from live chat with ebay

Joe Diago
Well they'll still pay for their listing fees.
Joe Diago
However, they won't be charged for the Final value fees as there has been no recorded sale.

back end of last year ago i sold an abs tone ring on ebay and a week later the chap who bought it messaged me to say it was defective, i was away for 2 days, and couldnt reply so he opened a case with ebay. i told him to post item back for full refund, he replied saying he unable to remove the ring due to cost and then asked ebay to sort it out. they decided to leave me as i was(money in my pocket), ebay gave him the money back themselves and let him keep the ring.

thatl be my rant on ebay over.
