Have you got a link?

The 96 WRX will be a 260ps one so it'll have quite a bit more power than a standard UK and it also has a bigger turbo and a few other extras

Imports aren't undersealed so that needs doing to protect it and they need to be run on vpower or tesco 99 unless remapped for UK fuel but you can easily get a chip for them which is mapped for UK and it removes the limiter and gives better power.

fuelling but as said they can be chipped to improve that and they require decent fuel. Other than that there isn't really that much to worry about.

As long as it's been looked after and has decent oil in it and it's been serviced regularly you should be ok.

not sure how much you know about scoobs (As you dont have many posts here) but check if the car has a Cat fited. they are sometimes removed for more power, but you will need the cat fitted for MOT's.

check it pulls without any coughs up to 7000rpm in 2nd & 3rd. if it holds back at all, could mean new coil packs and/or plugs. coil paks on the classics can go and aint exactly cheap, although its a simple enough job for anyone with a set of spanners to change

That's quite strong to be honest, £2k at most for that in today's market to be honest! I'd be bartering that down to £1800 and if yours is worth more I'd be asking for cash your way.
