Hello I'm preparing for the pain of handing over hundreds for my first service (in seven years of driving only ever serviced a car once as usually had dire cars not worthy of money spent on them!)

Anyway I'm probably going to continue going to Extreme Scoobies as that's where my car's full service history is from...

I'm about to hit 90k which seems to be a big one! However it got me thinking about something whilst trying to work out what it's likely to cost me over the next few years of ownership.

Now I only do around 3,000-4,000 miles per year if that tbh. When it comes to next year I should be on 94,000 and say 98,000 the following year. Do you think these will simply come down to the "interim" service of just £133.62? Obviously the 98,000ish one is basically 100k but is that an interim service anyway as it's not specifically listed, or does it count as another 50k on from 50k (lol sorry if this doesn't make sense!) i.e. a cambelt change costing £384.52? I'm sure they will tell me when I go to the garage, but just looking for a heads up

Its normally denoted as mileage or x year, whichever first, so if your car is say for example 5 years old but has 20k on the clock you would be due a 5 year or 50k service, not a 20k one.

Thanks for that... but say for example the 120k mile service.

Would this be the 20k service again, i.e. 100k = 0k.

Or, would it be the 60k mile service again, seeing as though you've now travelled an extra 60k miles...

stop thinking about its ...just take it to the specialist give them all the info on the car (fsh) and they will know what to do

If the last service was a 90k then the next will be a 100k service, 2 years down the line you may have 99k on the clock but it will be due a 120k service
