Default BRAKES DILEMMA !!

Hi. I cannot decide what option should I go for ?!
After few months of saving I've got enough money to upgrade my brakes on my V2 Sti (standard discs, pads and calipers) because planning to do some Track Days this Summer. So, I've got two options.

1. Brand New, Grooved discs and EBC NDX BlueStuff pads - complete set (front and rear) with standard 2 pots calipers

2. Upgrade only front brakes ( 4 pots with NEW grooved discs and NEW NDX pads and leave rear as it's now).

What's your advice ? What would You do ?

I'll be buying discs and pads from GODSPEED BRAKES or AZTEC PERFORMANCE.

Thank You

lol, bumping it up after an hour!

I'd upgrade the front brakes 1st. Best to PM Ian Godney and see what he has to offer.

HI
If you can pick up some good used 4 pots , these go from about £150 , then 294mm grooved discs and bluestuff pads are £199 , so you could do it within the budget you have.

If you have the early Speedline wheels similar to the RB5 wheels , then these need spacers to clear them as they won't fit over the Subaru 4 pots , just about every other wheel would clear.

Cheers Ian

Ok, so what's better option for me ? Do fronts with 4 pots or all round with standard calipers ? From which set up I'll get more benefits/improvement ?
Cheers

You would see more benefit fitting the 4 pot fronts only than fitting discs and pads all round on your existing set up

Cheers Ian

Out of the given options, upgrade the calipers to 4 pots. Much better than your current 2 pots.

There was a guy selling some with BrakeTech discs and our Kevlar pads with refurbished calipers in the For Sale section. Might be worth a look, you would need to upgrade the pads for trackwork though.

At your budget you may be pushing it - £150 for calipers you may find that many are tatty and need a refurb (more £££s).

It's important to upgrade the rear pads also or you will most likely still get fade when pushing it.

Ideally for any trackwork you would have a more realistic budget for bigger calipers/discs but the 4 Pots will be a upgrade from where you are now.

Feel free to give us a call or drop us a line. Always happy quoting people happy
