its a P reg the garage i bought it from said it was a RA but im quite sure it isnt ive checked the chassis code and found three different answers they were ;

whats the difference between the last 2 does anybody know thanks for any help but its really annoying me not even knowing which actual variant i have thanks.

It says its a wrx sti v3 but the wrx sti v3 limited also has the same code how do i tell the difference between the two? Thanks

 

i have a v2 wrx v-ltd & the difference is 2 badges on the boot, one saying the number of how many made i.e 578/1000 & the other being a large white badge saying about the rally championships. Also it has the white badge design sewn into the front seats. Oh & i have a different gearbox to normal wrx of same year

If it turns out not to be an RA you going to be having a word with the garage for a bit of false advertising? I personally would be a bit annoyed if it wasnt what i was told it was and would want a few quid back!

 

It does have a type ra sticker on the back tho.....

 

Take some pics of the car and also the inside, doors inside and out.
Sure fair few on here will be able to tell from pics.

 

Stickers don't mean much buddy, you can buy just about any sticker you like off eBay these days.

I would think your car would have something sewn into the seats if it was a V-limited, like the V2 posted above.
Standard V3 STI has black seats with red inserts.

Hope you didn't pay RA money for a badge mate. Have you been in touch with the garage? Have they said anything?

 

Mine is a STI Version 3. Electric windows, no front fogs ( covers with STI logo ) , when you say auto headlights - if you mean they come on when I twist the little **** then yes, have them lol. Black seats with red inserts.

 

Do I understand it right that the garage have sold it to you as a V3 STI RA?

Easy way to tell if it's an STI RA is the fact it'll have a roof vent and dccd (amongst other things)

If it hasn't got a roof vent or dccd it's not an STI RA. Other thing to consider it might be is the 'WRX RA' which didn't have dccd or roof vent but was an RA. This wouldn't have sti bits though.

There's so many people out there selling these cars that just advertise them as something they are not. What makes me laugh is the people that are driving around in their 'STI RA' ( which is actually a normal wrx or something) and probably paying a shed load more for insurance for something it's not.

The absolute ebay favourite is STI RA, there's loads of either wrx ra's, normal wrx's or sti's that are being sold as STI RA's. Either that os normal wrx's advertised as sti's. When i was looking for an sti ra a few years back I used to email sellers telling them their non roof flapped, non dccd'd sti is not an sti ra, but you either got abuse or them telling you it was an sti ra "coz me mate said init"

 

I payed 3700 which now i think is over priced but the car literally look brand new could i get money back and how much

 

We know it's not an RA, it's either a V3 STI ( like mine ) or a V3 STI VLimited. I really wouldn't worry, if your happy with the car then why does it matter. £3700 is a good price for a nice condition V3.
The difference between my car and an RA is minimal.

 

Mine is a p reg 87k absolutely perfect condition in and out, if u dont mind me askin how much would u expect to pay for one of these from a trader with same miles etc

It won't be 87000 miles as many of those would of been KM. If it's as clean as you say then £3700 is a fair price.

0 to 60 in the book is 4.6 as a standard. You would never be able to match that in the real world though.
Mileage wise, almost impossible to tell unless you have a certificate for when the speedo was changed to miles.
When was it imported ???

 

Aside from the plaques, the v-limited will have green glass and a roof vent..........and it only came in sports blue (all 555 of them).
