Rip off or wot £342 dealer v £94 car spares
Hi all,
Well my a/f oxygen lamda sensor has gone, so after some investigation and pricein heres wot i found:
1, subaru want £342....(thats just for the part)..world car parts 01526 348504 wanted £94 delivered.
2. the part is denso 22641 aa042 (2349011) both companys supply exactly the same part, by the same company with the same number on it.....
How the hell can there be a £248 difference for the same part....
hope this helps if ever you need to buy one
regards

I bet one difference is the fact that the subaru one comes with the correct plug whereas you will have to splice the denso one into existing wiring.
Not difficult and certainly not an explanation for the price difference. £342 for an o2 sensor is nuts. I thought about £50 is the going rate for an o2 sensor.
Have you checked ebay? what year is your scooby?

This is rife across most manafacturers!
I had to replace the throttle body on my (now sold) VW touran TDi. VW wanted, near as damn it, £400 +vat for the part made by Pierberg. I eventually went to euro car parts and got it from them, exact same part made by Pierberg, for £180 inc vat!
Extra couple of hundred quid for the different branding on the box

You have to remember that most dealers work on 9-11% profit on new cars. That's not much is it.
They make their money from spares and service, just like my work does with our transmissions.

Lambda sensor from dealer or from eBay is same, just price is not same.About the wiring,is same for newage is 4 wire Denso(Bosch seems don't work as front O2 sensor) and for Classic is 3 wire, where is good Bosch not Denso.
From eBay or dealer comes with correct plug, you don't need nothing solder or whatsoever,on eBay you can easily find for £88 delivered.
