Default Hawkeye Conversion

Can a blob eye be converted to a hawk eye, the interior is the same and so is the side and rears so would imagine it would only be the 2 front wings, bonnet, bumper and grill.

Would it just be a case of bolt off, bolt on??

someone has done a conversion on here,
i think it was a bug to hawk though and looks like a whole lot of work maybe cheaper to sell the blob and buy a hawk.

I dont think its as easy as you think, the intercooler is different to start with, and you would have to change that if you did the conversion (so you may require a remap).

Obviously you would need the headlights which cost £931 each from Subaru and are near impossible to source second hand. I have been looking for a drivers side one for weeks without any luck.
I think you would also need the front panel too.

Intercooler wouldnt be a problem as its coming off the road shortly for an engine build etc so a front mount will be going in!

Headslight i can get from a couple of places 2nd hand so thats not a problem either.
The front panel would just be a case of cutting the old one out and rewelding a new one in

You will need the bonnet, intercooler shroud (if using top mount) front wings, front panel,(not radiator support ) front plastic wheel arch liners, front bumper and bumper support, headlights, the front part of the inner wings need cutting slightly to meet up with the front panel, (bug eye not sure about blob) but should be very sim, headlight wiring needs modifying for new lights, headlight washers need pluming in and thats about it to be honest. all this was done on a 2003 bug eye but i had a damaged car to take all the parts from, it could be costly to buy all you need separately, hope this helps some.

I'm in the middle of doing this now to my bugeye.

Bonnet
front wings
inner liners (not 100% sure yet)
front bumper
possible bumper support bar unless your going fmic
radiator support bar
Headlight supports (underside of headlights)
headlight support brackets
Wiring!! what an a$$ of a job
Drilling out spot welds (16 in total)
Cutting the inner wings away
aligning up above before finalising and replacing the rusty panels you find behind it all lol

Alot of work but worth it.

and to be really fussy, the plastic rear wheel arch extensions, as the hawk has a wider track. , oh, and diffuser and rear lights. Oh and boot lid with the centre badge and of course the top spoiler above the back window. No point in doing the front and not the back!.

this post scares the crap outta me, ive just bought a front end lol when you say rewiring headlights.. what do you mean?

i have both headlights and they have been unplugged via their connectors.. assumed they would plug straight into my bug connectors?

ive got an aftermarket hid kit on the bugeye, would that work with it? the hawkeye headlights are hid anyway but wasnt sure if that would wire up fine..

im confuzzled.

Good luck when you start yours. PM me pics of the back of the lights and i'll see if its the same as mine.

The front of the car is off the time attack cars. The rear is off the Japspeed drift car. The rear arch's are from the classic wide arch kit. A bit of mix and match. Standard sports bonnet. I'm getting the vents fitted to that soon.
