Default 91Y or 94W XL - tyre spec for Bugeye Sti?

Hi Guys,

Bit confused about what spec tyres to get for a bugeye Sti. Im looking for 225/45/17 in Conti sport 3s or 5s or even Eagle F1 asyymetric 2 do I go for:

91Y (seem to be most common)or
94W XL

I did search on the forum but couldnt find a conclusive answer.

Thanks in advance

Simon

I believe that the 94s have more reinforcement than the 91s. I seem to remember a few people having problems with sidewalls breaking up on blobeyes as they are heavier than the classics which can run OK on 91s.

I run my blob on 34F 32R

Cant advise on the Bugeye but the Hawkeye standard fitment according to the manual is 91w for the wrx and 90w for the sti (I believe the reason the sti has 90w is due to the original tyres being Bridgestone RE070s which are the only tyre I have seen with this load index).

Im running 91 on my sti with pressures 33F and 28R
