well a week has passed since the scoob went and i now wish ide kept it im struggling to find a replacment and cant decide what to get. with a budget of around £6500 im torn between a Clio 197 .. CTR ..Cooper S (works) ive even trawled through the scoob sections again but thats defeating the object i suppose.

I didn't realise you'd sold it mate.
Personally i'd look more low key, if you go down the route that you've suggested then they will probably attract similar kind of problems to those that caused you to sell the Scoob in the first place!

I'm assuming you sold it due to running costs? In which case your budget would get you a decent seat Leon cupra deisel. Good torque in the engine and could be mapped if u get bored

Get something boring and cheap and save the dosh for a bit.
Doubt you'll be happy with a 2 litre NA hot hatch. You're already looking at scoobs so a clio won't cut it.
Try banger-nomics for a bit. Something quite satisfying being able to park your car wherever you want in Tesco car park and not give a ****.

IIRC somone tried to steal it a couple of times including trying to get in to the house for the keys, hence my surprise that he wants another desirable sporty car
I know what you mean though about nothing else appealing, I often look at other cars and don't honestly think any other car (apart from an Evo) would 'do it' for me.

obviously i dont want the whole stealing situation to become an issue again which is why im stuck in a rut with my choice.

I would personally go for a Civic Type R .
They are quite low key for their performance and handle really well.
I had one before my current scooby for over a year and I still sort of miss it.
It was just a really great car!

Glad you got her sold in the end mate.
The mk5 Golf GT TDI would be a great all rounder with good performance & 45-50mpg & with a remap will feel as quick as the scoob.

my thought exactly. i remember your last thread about the scum's. i personally had the same experience. mine being an 02 sti prodrive, i sold up an im now in a 1997 uk turbo and i love it.
get an older model sti3-4 & sling some dosh in the bank for a rainy day
i have had no problems now after doing this, i love the way the scoobs feel to drive & dont think i could see myself in anything ele's
Good luck whatever you choose

Ibiza Cupra Derv is a cracking car, its no scooby, but certainly entertaining to drive.
Depends what you want, I've just had the same dilemma myself, was all set on a 123d & ended up with a 135i....
