My thoughts are,

Ouch - wallet rape time!

But it will be awesome when you get it done !

You need to know WHY it went, so as not to repeat the same mistake.

Only then can you start looking at rebuilds and mods.

So.........what mods, if any, did it have? Even small stuff like exhaust, dumpvalve?
What were you doing/had you been doing just before it went?

i got
v9 nitrided crank
acl comp race bearings
oil modine
timing belt
set of eagal rods
uprated oil pump

from aa and it was 1175 all in , deliverd

so just got to get the heads skimmed , seats cut, tappets and all gaskets from howard ,as he was cheaper for these bits
so this is going to be 600
then 500 labour

so 2300 all done , and a nice spec i think for the money

howard also bafling my sump, fitting my alk , and alloy wish bones

stu

Alan: you still haven't said what spec you were running and what you were doing when it went?

Failure to look into WHY it went could lead to BIG disappointment, when the new one goes too

For 335 BHP you don't need to do expensive work as the OEM stuff will cope LOL

Banny on here is selling an STi Bottom end for £900 which is fit for 400 plus, API do a fixed price rebuild for clever money which would cope with your power.....

Why spend a shed load of money on a 500 BHP rebuild and then run it at 350 BHP ?

Just my 2p worth
