Default How do I buy an STi part for my WRX from Subaru?

Why is it so difficult to order a part with the dealers?

I called up the other day to order a pair of STi foglight covers for my 2006 WRX.

He asked for my reg but it was not recognised on the system as it is a private plate.
He then asked me for my chassis number which I gave him.

About 15 minutes later he phones back as explains that there is no such part available for my car. I tell him that the part will not come under that chassis number as obviously it is not a standard part for the WRX, but that it will 100% fit.
Nevertheless, he explains the only part available for my car is the fog surround.

Now how do I go about ordering the part?
I was thinking of just going on Pistonheads and grabbing an STi reg off there to give to the guy.

I have ordered sti bits for my bug WRX from Stan Palmers here in Carlisle without any problems.......

You can also try someone who gets OEM parts to order like Alyn

Called around and one of the dealers in London quoted me £75 PER cover

That's £150 for two small bits of plastic!!!
Not so sure about getting it from the stealers now.

Anyone know of any Subaru scraps?

I've tried Japperformanceparts, scoobybits, and adgespeed.

Why not spend the money on a mod that actually improves performance instead of a cosmetic mod which doesn't even make the car looks better anyway?
