Track Day (Strange Question)
Hi,
Does anybody know if you NEED to have your internal rear view mirror fitted on a track day?
Its the idea place to mount my camera but the mirror ideally needs moved.
Cheers,
Nick.

It was required in scrutineering (porsche cup, many years ago) as a matter of "safety". I think you will find that removing the rear view mirror will be classed as a safety risk. Its a good question though because there is a difference between race and track days. Common sense should prevail and I would leave it on,,, dont you think.

My main mode of transport is a van and it doesnt have a internal rear view mirror, or at least it has but the back window is metal. With driving that all the time, you tend not to use the internal rear view mirror on other vehicles, it wouldn't effect the way I see what's behind me but, it does make the car not up to mot standards.
I don't won't to turn up to a track day with the camera mounted where the mirror should be to be told off

of the track days that i have done, they have never checked the rear view mirrors, and on a few of those days there have been proper single seater race cars out, and they dont have internal anything let alone mirrors!! you would be fine removing it, but i personally wouldnt, when there is much faster things out there than you (and there always is) then the best mirror is the internal one!!
