Default Does anybody know this car?

Hey Guys

As the title says really.

http://www.swapz.co.uk/swapz/1724347...t_280-300bhp_/

What would he mean when he says "chipped"? Did that think bug eyes need any sort of ecu chip?

Thanks

No, chipped = mapped on a bugeye.

It says chipped and re-mapped

I'd be wanting to know why he only has the green slip and not the whole logbook.......

I thought a prodrive ecu was just a generic map so no chip but not 100% sure.If its been mapped there would be no point in the prodrive ecu anyway.Id be worried about the fob needing a battery though as that controls the immobiliser, which would mean that isn't working, plus you should have two.

Your right about a chip, apparently they were fitted to the uk300.Where the others were a generic map.Perhaps he means the chip gives it the uk300 map, not sure about 280/300 bhp then.

TD04 wont see more than 280 and even then it will be upto 280 rather than 280+. No mention of an exhaust system beyond a chav tube

Cheers , the only reason I ask is our's is around the 280/280 (or so it is claimed by the bloke we bought it of, no printout to prove it) Was thinking of trying to get a few more out of it, but if a turbo upgrade is needed then it could be a little bit further down the line!!

Ours was mapped at power station, would they hold a record of what it produced?

Thanks Very much

I have received an email of the guy and he only just got the car. This then makes me think why does he want to sell so quickly? The car was orignally from the Leeds area.

The original PPP for the bugeye came as a daughterboard with additional chip but that didn't last for long before it vwas the ECU that was changed. Places like Well Lane used superchips for a while..................Dewsbury isnt that far from Leeds !!

I'd walk away from this one

Looking at the second one the 97 model cant be mapped which would be a issue for me with some of the mods stated,im not 100% on classics so someone might know more.Plus i thought the td05 turbo was standard on that unless it has a 18g.Poss 360 bhp????

I could do. But a few people I know have used it and had no problem with it. It just saves trying to part ex your car and going through that hassle.
