Default MOT passing sports cats?

Hi, i just failed an MOT with my sports cat, it's passed twice before. What sports cat passes with no issues? Mine is a Magnex, it passed the idle, but not the fast idle. If it's going to fail, i might as well have a decat!

You need to make sure it HOT!!!! when they stick the probe in the exhaust.....

My MOT garage were prity understanding, when I booked my appointment for Spec c with miltek sports cat, I went out for a good blast to get the heat up, then they would do the emmissions test first, then let it cool down while checking other bits.

Worth a try

Mine had to be taken for a bit if a drive before it passed, the mot guy was really good about it as he told me it would need it done to pass.

Cheers for the replies, i've put the cat back on, mot at 3. The sports cat i have doesn't fit the best anyway, think i'll look out for a prodrive one, i can't be bothered with all this faffing about each mot!

Running a Milsport 100 cell mated to cobra which doesn't have the best fit but seems to pass ok. Thinking of a H&S later front to back.

personally i think sports cats are useless, some work some dont,i had a ninja sports cat downpipe(100 cell) which i bought brand new for £300 on my old car and passed one mot,the next it failed and i made sure it was red hot......im about to get my car mapped and im just going to leave the original oe downpipe in place, cant be doing with all the pissing about unless you want to run big power.

H&S Sports Cat, doesn't need to be hot, just driving to the MOT test centre is enough

Well, what a saga! I turned up on day one, and failed the MOT for just emissions. I then decided to re fit the standard cat, or get the garage to do it, raining and my garage is full of rubbish, so didn't fancy doing it myself. I removed the turbo blanket, which was a mare, and basically wrote the blanket off. It was one of these kits that you wrap round the turbo. Well, turned up at the garage yesterday, booked in for cat fit and mot. Got there, and they tell me they tested my car in the wrong class, and my car would pass! But, can't do it now, as the mot guy has gone home. So, day three, today, finally got my MOT, that i should have got on day one, idiots! And i'm down a £70 turbo blanket. AAAARRRGGHH!!!
