fantastic car, and so is the vxr monaro, but i have seen a modded/remapped vxr zafira on the motorway that shifted as well, alas, the scooby aint the all conquering car it used to be 15 years ago, unless of course you are prepared to throw another 5k at it lol.

was looking at one of these on pistonheads with a supercharger, over 500bhp running low pressure, only 6.2 psi, fantastic car for the money but you would need shares in bp to run it.

We have one of these living near us.

Unfortunately, the owners is viewed as bit of a kn&b by most of his neighbours.

Shame, as the car is quite nice.

Very nice cars, very fast but not so good at corners unless you like to drift it around.

I've driven a supercharged 6.2 litre Monaro and it's a very good car and not really any worse than a modded Impreza on MPG.

I'm soo tempted to buy a bathurst edition, I know it won't be the fast for what I have but it will be a quick car and if it were off the road it would probably only be for a service

Big difference betweena VXR8 and the bathurst edition, normal one is about 440bhp where as the bathurst is 550bhp out of the box and both a 6,2ltr v8's

I know he added a supercharger but it seems expensive for how old it is. I have seen 2009 cars for £20k and that was some time ago.

yes but it looks stunning, the supercharger kit alone is £7k without the other mods.its like the scoobs,do you buy one already modded or spend twice the money doing it yourself.

At the same time I also saw the bathurst edition for about £28k that was some time ago so they will be ceaper now as well. I'd pick a bathurst over a supercharged vxr8 everytime

Steve as you seem to know a little about these, what is the difference between the bathurst and the supercharged edition?

The bathurst is the supercharged one!
The normal VXR8 is just a 6ltr (older one) or 6.2ltr (newer one) if some one adds a supercharger its not the same as the Bathurst has different body styling and suspension mods etc . Its sort of a cosworth VXR8

if you check out the link to the one i mentioned it has the same body styling, same clutch, better suspension, better exhaust system, the same brakes and its £14k cheaper than the bathurst, just because its a limited edition and more expensive doesnt make it better.

i would have either just dont think the bathurst is that much better than one that has been modified in the same way a wr1 isnt always better than a modded sti

The 'Bathurst S' is the supercharged one, the 'Bathurst' is just a limited edition VXR8. Drove a Bathusrt, sounded lovely, but didnt feel any faster than my Classic

I originally set out to buy a monaro before I bought my first subaru, unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) the garage owner was being Karted off in a police car when I arrived to look at the car .
