Default Newbie - help/advice please

I've just bought a 99 UK Turbo - Mica Blue - Standard.

I'm happy with it. But, hoping to utilise this site early and get some advice.

When low down on the revs and light on the throttle it stutters and it feels like its holding back. Hard to explain in text but hopefully you know what I mean. On full throttle its fine, and is better when warm.

Any advice would be good.

apart from the usual service items, MAF, filter, plugs, leads, clean out the boost solenoid (guide in tech area) replace Y-pipe will metal free flow job it will all help reduce the hesitation but it will never completly go away when still running the std ECU its an issue with the E3 A800 ecu's. you could try a later 801 or 802 ecu to see lessen it again

id same issue and done all of the above, and it finally went when i replaced the std ecu for the prodrive one.

Try not to use full throttle or the turbo until the engine is properly warm.

the issue which he is describing is on part throttle between 2-3krpm. so not on fully throttle or on turbo - and its even more apparent when cold if boost solenoid has never been cleaned out either

Cheers guys, I'll give all that a go.

Caerphilly 'Rolling Motion Limited' do a new ECU and re-map for £450, is that good / are they good?

Your probably best off asking about Caerphilly 'Rolling Motion Limited' in the Wales region section butt!

Good luck with it.
