Default Heater is being a bit odd...

Hiya,

The heater on my 2005 STi Blob is a bit weird. When I first got the car, at 25 degrees the heater would ALWAYS be nice and warm. Now, at 25 degrees, sometimes its blowing out air nice and warm, but other times the air that comes out is pretty cold. I thought it might be an airlock in the radiator or heater matrix somewhere, but when I turn the heater up to Max (30 degrees) the air is always instantly boiling hot, so I'm not sure its an airlock.

Any idea what problem this could be?!

Cheers!

To do with cabin temperature?

Surely the heater tries to MAINTAIN the temperature, so blows cold if it's getting above 25 degrees?

Would make sense, but for almost the last year it has blown out warm/hot air at 25 degrees regardless of the cabin temperature. Unless some sort of cabin thermostat (does the car have one, I dont know?) has suddenly started working?

I should add, I always have the heater on, but WITHOUT the air-con turned on.

Thanks for the help so far!!!
