alright people,
can any one help i have a 1997 uk wrx scooby and i have been offed an sti engine from a 1996 import. do i have to change the loom and ecu or will it run off my wrx loom and ecu? may need a re-map if so? any help much appreciated!

 

hi mate there is no such thing has a uk wrx classic you either 1 or the other

need to no which 1 if possible

ok the engine will fit but the ecu is different the gearbox will fit but has alot longer ratio's

not too sure the loom will plug straight in either im sure someone on here will no mate

 

Just to add, the gearbox has longer ratios on the Uk 2000 so would need the correct differentials too.

Would it be easier to sell the car and buy and STi?

Sell yours and buy an STI. Far far easier than trying an engine swap. There is more work involved than you think.
