Since my car is an 08 hatch sti, what would be better?

1. trade in against something half decent
2. sell private and hold off for the right price (might take a while)

Depends on what you value the car at but if you get a good deal on a trade in albeit less then a private sale but can get a deal on the new car then save all ball ache of selling private then let it go. If you can't get.the deal you want then hang out for a private sale but it may take a while.

Is the car finance free and ready to go if so then try both and see which comes up better at the moment in time

 

Sell private get cash, get FAR better deal on next car....trade you WILL lose money on both ends of the deal i.e. price for your car, and cost of new one......sell private, buy private is the smartest choice, however......it is also a lot of hassle, waiting around for ***** to not show, and taking endless morons for test drive's......

If you value your personal time highly, trade it and move one, if you have time on your side.....autotrader/ pistonheads it is....
